At ECHO Handmade, we strive to bring all things to their full potential – whether that is your grandfather’s old ties, our neighbor in need or the untapped creativity of our community.

We operate as a social enterprise of ECHO, by transforming excess clothing donations that cannot be used for our clients into repurposed, funky accessories while providing professional assets to artisans in need of job training.

Through mindful recycling and community development, ECHO Handmade has prevented thousands of pounds of salvaged materials from reaching landfills and has equipped artisans with new technical skills to take with them as they enter the work force. 

100% of our proceeds goes to fight hunger in Hillsborough County buy directly funding ECHO’s emergency food pantry and programs.

Getting our Neighbors Back to Work

ECHO Handmade serves the Hillsborough community as a 6-18 month back to work program, offerning references, professional skills and most importantly, a livable wage to our neighbors in need.

Artisians are graduates of EHO’s job placement and financial literacy classes who may still experience trouble securing stable employment or affordable housing. We seek out those participants and teach them a new trade, to take with them as they are empowered to seek permanent employment.

One of the staples of this social ventrure is offering our artisan a living wage, a percentage of the retail value for each piece they create, to ensure their road to stability is not tampered down by financial stressors. This monetary springboard, as well as a documented work history and professional references, ensures artisans are equipped to compete in the ever expanding job market.

Custom Orders

ECHO Handmade is fully equipped to make custom orders by request. Some ideas for a personalized accessories we offer are…

• Honoring a family member with a keepsake Tie Bag, made from their own tie, suit jacket and article of clothing
• Choosing the band color, size, metal plate type and phrase to make a customized leather cuff
• A key chain with names, birthdays, anniversaries or just a special mantra you always want to remember
