Food Assistance

The ECHO Food Pantry was created to assist families who have suffered a recent emergency and need food help in Eastern Hillsborough County. Those who have suffered a recent job loss, unexpected loss in income, house fire, emergency foster children, or other emergencies are encouraged to visit the ECHO food pantry for temporary help feeding their family.

ECHO’s clients receive all items free of charge. ECHO provides up to seven days worth of food per person in the family. In addition to a large assortment of non-perishable items, clients receive meat, cheese, eggs, butter, flour & sugar. We also provide fresh produce.   We receive fresh produce from a variety of sources including volunteer led gardens such as Seeds of Faith and Bay Life Church and from community partners such as Fresh Market. 

The Food Pantry at ECHO distributes up to one week of nutritious food for each family and we always willing to accept donations of the following non-perishable food items:

  • Canned Meats
  • Jelly
  • Peanut Butter
  • Spaghetti Sauce
  • Canned Fruit
  • Canned Pasta
  • Canned, Dried, shelf-safe milk
  • Macaroni & Cheese

Your generous donations will feed local families in need and help local food pantries Eastern Hillsborough County keep their doors open to assist these families.
You can also participate by hosting your own food drive.

Did you know that on average ECHO distributes 20,000 pounds of food each month to 700 individuals, many of which are children?

EVERY CAN COUNTS FOOD DRIVE (Food Help Eastern Hillsborough County)

Join our “Every Can Counts” food drive campaign. Holding a food drive is an easy and fun way to help combat hunger in our community.

  1.  Email us (link to contact). Let us know the dates and location of your drive.
  2.  Download this flier.  (link to PDF)  You can attach this to any container or box that you will be using to collect the food.
  3.  Market your food drive.
  4.  Collect nutritious, nonperishable canned and packaged foods that have yet to expire.
  5.  Box it up and drop off the food that you have collected, anytime Mon- Fri 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, at:  ECHO, 507 N Parsons,  Eastern Hillsborough County, Fl 33510

Need a pick up?

A minimum of 10 boxes is required for a pick up. ECHO only has volunteer drivers.  Pick ups must be located in Eastern Hillsborough County. Call ECHO at 813-685-0935 or contact ust o arrange a convenient time. Please allow us 2 to 3 days to schedule a volunteer to pick up your food items.

    How does one go about receiving help? My mom just keeps saying miracles happen all the time but I’m beginning to lose faith everyday is a struggle for food,clothes it doesn’t even feel like Christmas.
