Are you in need of food right now?
ECHO can help!
The ECHO Food Pantry was created to assist families who have suffered a recent emergency and need help with food in Eastern Hillsborough County. Those who have suffered a recent loss of job, income, house fire, emergency foster children, or other emergencies are encouraged to visit the ECHO Food Pantry for temporary help feeding their family.
FEDERAL WORKERS are encouraged to come in to shop for food and other basic household needs through our Opportunity offices in Brandon and Riverview. ALL YOU NEED is your federal ID or a past paystub.
There just isn’t a typical ECHO client.
We find that our clients come from all walks of life. There are not stereotypes of the proud people who come to our door each and every week looking for a leg up out of a difficult situation. No matter who walks into our building, they are treated with the respect they deserve for the courage they demonstrate to lift themselves up. We’re honored to provide a helping hand and encourage anyone to call on us in times of need. We’re also a great resource for homeless assistance that Brandon residents can feel safe confiding in.
ECHO’s clients receive all items FREE of charge. ECHO provides up to seven days worth of food per person in the family. In addition to a large assortment of non-perishable items, clients receive meat, cheese, eggs, butter, flour, and sugar. We also provide fresh produce that comes from local sources such as Seeds of Faith, a local volunteer-led community garden, and partners such as The Fresh Market.
Did you know that on average ECHO distributes 20,000 pounds of food each month to 700 individuals, many of whom are children?
